The Shadows of the Stage

The Shadows of the Stage

Upon the stage, where truths unravel,
Where shadows dance and secrets travel,
A whispered word, a fleeting glance,
The world ignites in silent trance.

The actor dons a thousand faces,
In borrowed skins, through time and spaces,
A pauper’s grief, a monarch’s rage,
Life condensed on a wooden stage.

The velvet curtain holds its breath,
As love is born, and met with death.
A dagger gleams, a crown descends,
The plot twists sharp; the story bends.

Yet in the wings, where shadows creep,
The players' souls in silence weep.
For masks they wear, and lines they say,
Are dreams and truths they've thrown away.

The crowd erupts in thund’rous cheer,
The echoes fade, yet linger near.
But who will soothe the aching scars
Of those who feign beneath the stars?

For in this realm of fleeting lore,
Each tale consumes the soul once more.
The drama lives, though hearts may break,
The stage demands all you can take.

So let the lights blaze bright tonight,
And weave the worlds in shadowed light.
For every act, a soul must pay—
The price of dreams in life’s ballet.
